CAST
For the Parisian performances,
Johan Inger and José Martínez have chosen to show
two different interpretations of Carmen.
Both opposed and complementary,
these two incarnations are the different faces
of Carmen and Don José.
Cast 1
July 8, 9, 12, 12, 13 and 17
Carmen: Sara Fernández
Don José: Daan Vervoort
In this distribution, Don José's animal strength contrasts with Carmen's apparent fragility, she seems to be at his mercy. But, as the ballet progresses, we understand that Carmen is the one manipulating Don José and that all his strength and physical power is no competition to her own determination.

Cast 2
July 10, 11, 15 and 16
Carmen: Elisabet Biosca
Don José: Isaac Montllor
This other interpretation shows from the beginning of the ballet a strong Carmen with a powerful and devastating personality. Faced to it, Don José is distraught and lost. He becomes the embodiment of despair, in the grip of doubt, sinking into misfortune. More than ever he is the victim of this free and apocalyptic Carmen.
